3. We all are inter-dependent beings, but this must NOT become an excuse to oppress or restrict the individual.
In the context of inter-personal relationships, the self & other must be held in equal balance, where mutual adjustments are necessary, but what is essential to each is NEVER to be sacrificed.
4. Individualism does not mean that we can just do whatever we feel like (Distinguish from simple hedonism). The self is not only to be protected from external conformity, but also from slavery to one’s internal drives.
5. The self is to be constantly overcome and developed continually (this includes evolving beliefs & practice in line with experience & education), to move towards attaining one’s full potential.
