The one who attacks is usually in a position of power, & the one who is defending is usually in a lower place.
And more often than not, justice is on the side of the powerless, not because of their inherent virtue, but because of the corrupting nature of power.
Power is morally/spiritually hazardous, just as much as it is materially/socially advantageous.
