“அவள் அப்படித்தான்” Tamil movie review (4/5 – Hit!)

I had to watch this, after reading the director’s daughter’s article, it was a tribute to her father.

Not just another feminist film! I think it’s a very personal film, maybe even autobiographical…

A rebuke & a warning to all wannabe male feminists, like me!

Poetic, poignant & critical, not just ideological propaganda or a purely aesthetic narrative.

Way, way ahead of its time! Subversive and sentimental at the same time. I never thought that was possible……

A film about film-making too. Truly a great movie.

I downloaded it from YouTube. Very bad video & audio quality! 😠

“I want to watch my film in a local theatre”

Oooh Yeah, baby… Would you like to watch with me??

Ex-engineer – a new genre of being human, especially in this country!

Forwarded to Shanthuru (Sri Lankan refugee & film-making) & Rowan (post-ideology). Masi too? Yes!

Compare with the article by Rudraiah’s daughter. Just now finished watching “அவள் அப்படித்தான்”. Perfect timing! 🙂

Uniqueness is sweet, but it’s secret is bleed

From eschatology to apocalypse!

Bridge to Nowhere

“DUNBAR.
Before dawn with bridge lit by my car’s headlights.
Heron only stayed for one shot. :- (”

Hmmm… I like sharing images that impress and also inspire.

It’s a bridge from nowhere too…!

Maybe the purpose of a bridge (revelation/spirituality) is not actually to get us from one place to another, but just to afford a place to stand on in the midst of the deluge……

Something like the islets of land (1/4th) on this planet, in the middle of vast oceans (3/4th)

Also notice the reflection of the bridge on the water – that’s religion!

Compare with the metaphorical usage of “the waters” in the Bible

Theology and Contemporary Critical Theory

“Theory For Religious Studies” is a must read. But this one is more focused & deep.

I didn’t get a lot of what is being said, but it nonetheless stimulated & stretched me. Well worth reading fully!

Some writers need to be paraphrased & explained twice or thrice before they can be understood by the common man……!

E.g. Foucault >> Ward >> Joseph >> others

Today, the boundaries between theology, religious studies & philosophy have completely broken down, & that’s a very good thing. What an exciting time to be alive!
